Super-Light Lenovo Lavie Z and Lavie Z 360 notebooks takes on the Macbook

Earlier this year, Lenovo showcased the Lenovo Lavie Z and Lenovo Lavie Z 360 notebooks at the CES 2015 earlier this year. Both the Lenovo Lavie Z and Lavie Z 360 are now available for $1499 and $1699 respectively.

Both the Lavie Z and Lavie Z 360 have the same specs but the latter has a touchscreen and a flappable hinge which makes its double as a tablet. Both notebook models measures around 319 x 212 x 17mm in dimensions; weighs 1.87 pounds (0.85kg) for the standard model and 2.04 pounds (0.93kg). The base model has almost the same dimensions and weight as the new 13-inch Macbook but has betters specs. 

Moving to the specs, they both sport a 13.3-inch (2560 X 1440 pixels) WQHD display and is powered by a fifth generation Core i7-5500U Broadwell CPU; the 13-inch Macbook makes use of the Intel Core M processor. Other specs details includes Intel HD Graphics 5500 GPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Windows 8.1, 8GB of RAM and 256GB space of flash storage.

Unlike the Macbook which skips on some connectivity options, both models comes with full connectivity suites – two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, a microSD card, a mice Jack and a headphone port. It is backed by a battery expected to provide around 9 hours of battery life.
