Sometimes last month, Cubot reached out to us to inform us that the Cubot L9 smartwatch ended up going official as the Cubot R8. The smartwatch is heralded as the ‘slimmest smartwatch in the world’ and to be honest, it mimics the Apple Watch in the manner of design and user interface.
The Cubot R8 has a rectangular 1.54-inch IPS G+F laminated display with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels and measures around 8.8mm thin which makes it thinner than the Apple Watch. It has a special alloy metal body build which makes it durable and lightweigh and is said to be waterproof but the level of IP certification is not known.
You will find most of the features of most smartwatches around onboard such as altimeter, pedometer, barometer, thermometer and monitors the sleep. The R8 pairs to mobile devices by Bluetooth 4.0, has a USB 2.0 port and is backed by a 250mAh battery which lasts up to 72 hours on standby.
The Cubot R8 measures 44 x 45 x 8.8mm in dimensions, weighs around 80 grams, powered by a Mediatek MT2501 processor with 24MB of RAM and 32MB internal storage space. It is available in White and Black colour options, and most outlets sell for a price tag around $66.90 –
