Super-slim Janus One phone can offer up to 90 days of standby time

With the issue of long battery life of phones yet to be fully addressed, a Chinese Startup Firm wants to address this issue with the Janus One. The device which is currently available on Kickstarter has surpassed the funding goal needed and shipment starts by September 2015.

If you fancy owning one, you can reserve it on Kickstarter for $69 (shipping inclusive). With an additional $10, a SIM card which is compatible with T-Mobile network and comes with 30 minutes of talk time for 90 days. The unlocked model is expected to cost around $100.

A similar smartphone with the same concept – the Light Phone showed up around May on the same platform (Kickstarter) but is expected to arrived around September 2016. Some sources says the Janus One is the same device as the Light Phone.

The Janus One is a simple feature phone which makes calls, forward calls, sends text messages, comes equipped with 90 days (3 months) of standby time thanks to its 1500mAh battery and around 12 hours of talk time on a single charge. It has a size which is slightly larger than a credit card and measures just about 5.5mm thin (full dimensions – 99 x 56.8 x 5.5mm).

The Janus One sports a 1.68-inch OLED display with the rest occupied by the touch keyboard, stores up to 500 contacts, comes with Micro USB 5 Pin and can be used as a power bank for your boosting your main smartphone. It can also act as a Bluetooth dialer and sports pedometer when paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth.

It supports a single Micro-SIM slot, compatible with most GSM networks, is shockproof and water resistant. Champagne Gold, Obsidian Black and Polar White are the available colour options.
