Google has teamed up with both Huawei and LG to deliver the next Nexus smartphones marking the first time the Search giant would release two Nexus phones – a normal smartphone sized created by LG and the phablet sized by Huawei. Both devices should go official by September 29th.
Initially tipped to be called the LG Nexus 5 (2015) or Nexus 5 2015, it seems the new Nexus smartphone would end up being called the LG Nexus 5X or just Nexus 5X. The device is said to be internally known as N3 according to sources.
Moving to the specs, the device is expected to sport a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD display, powered by a 64-bit Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor clocked at 1.8GHz paired with 3GB of RAM, either 32GB or 64GB space of internal storage and 4G LTE connectivity support (LTE Cat.6).
The LG Nexus 5X measures146.9 x 72.9 x 8/9.8mm in dimensions (1.8mm for the slight bump in the main camera). The rear facing 13MP camera has Laser AutoFocus and Dual-Tone LED Flash; the fingerprint scanner is seen below the main camera and the front facing camera is a 5MP snapper for selfies. The device is backed by a 2700mAh battery and would run Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The LG Nexus 5X is the third LG-made Nexus device for Google and it would be available in both Black, Light Blue and White colour options. Pricing for the Nexus 5X is expected to start at $399 for the base model and $499 for the other model with twice the storage.
