Huawei is reportedly planning to announce the second edition of the Huawei Y5 with some improvements. Dubbed the Huawei Y5 II, it is expected to launch by Q2 2016 in select markets for a price tag equivalent to US$ 165. Available colour options includes – Arctic, Obsidian Black, Rose Pink, Sand Gold, Sky Blue and White.
Compared to the original Y5, the Huawei Y5 II is lighter in weight (from 142 grams to 135 grams), has a different & faster processor (from Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 to Mediatek MT6735P), a bigger display size (from 4.5″ to 5″), higher camera pixels (from 5MP to 8MP) and the battery has also seen an increase (from 2000mAh to 2200mAh).
Sporting a 5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution and running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with the company’s EMUI 3.1 ontop; the Y5 II relies on a quad-core Mediatek MT6735P processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in expandable storage space.
For photography, the Dual SIM enabled Huawei Y5 II has a front facing 5-megapixel camera with front camera flash and a rear facing 8-megapixels camera with LED flash. It is backed by a 2200mAh battery and supports 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity options.
