Gionee’s fairly known sub-brand , IUNI is preparing a new flagship smartphone set for launch soon. According to sources, the company is working on the IUNI U4 flagship which should naturally succeed the Snapdragon 801 powered IUNI U3 from 2014. The key specs and renders of the device is detailed below but there is no word on when it will go official.
Moving to the specifications, IUNI U4 sports a 5.2-inch Sharp LTPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) screen resolution and 2.5D glass ontop. The device is powered by the Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with either 4GB or 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB or 128GB built-n storage space. It is packed in a metal body frame which is said to be 3.6mm at the thinnest and 7mm at its thickest.
For photography, the main 13-Megapixels camera with Sony IMX377 sensor is located on the rear alongside the Fingerprint Scanner. The battery capacity is not stated but the device uses the USB Type-C port for transferring data and charging. Presumably the device will support 4G LTE and run the company’s IUNI OS skin on the version of Android it runs. The standard version with 4GB RAM costs CNY 1999 (USD 306) while the Elite version with 6GB version costs CNY 2499 (USD 383).
The last device from the brand – the IUNI N1, was launched back in September 2015. Recaping the specs, it sports a 5-inch HD display, Octa-core Mediatek MT6753, 2GB of RAM and draws energy from a 2400mAh battery.
