Swipe Elite 2 goes official with 4.5-inch screen, 4G LTE and Android 5.1

Swipe Technologies has officially announced the Swipe Elite 2 in the online-only Elite brand, it is the first 4G smartphone in that line and apparent successor to the Swipe Elite. It will be sold exclusively on Flipkart starting November 8th for Rs 4666 ($71) in Black colour option only. 

Before that, Uber Riders would have access to buy from October 30th to November 7th and will also the sale will be open for one week in Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Delhi. 

Commenting on the launch, Founder & CEO, Swipe Technologies, Shripal Gandhi said:

“Elite has been a huge success and our new flagship smartphone was sold out on Flipkart within no time. We are now coming up with the most affordable 4G offering and would like to take our customer’s experience to the next level.”

Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Freedom OS ontop, the Swipe Elite 2 sports a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) qHD display, powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735M 64-bit processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali-T720 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage space and a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB

In the camera segment, the device make use of a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and a 8MP main camera with LED flash. Connectivity option on the device includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and 4G LTE/3G HSPA+. It has Dual SIM slots and is backed by a 1900mAh battery.

The company’s Freedom OS brings freebies and features such as 100GB free Swipe Box online storage, themes, off-screen gestures, Swipe Search (for searching locally and the internet) and more customisation options.
