Coolpad has joined hands with US Carrier, T-Mobile to launch its first postpaid device in the US. The new device, Coolpad Catalyst, with such a low price ($99.99) is an entry-level one and the specs list ‘toe in line’.
Sales of the ‘Catalyst’ has commenced in T-Mobile stores (July 7th) and MetroPCS (July 11). T-Mobile prepaid channels and Wal-Mart Family Mobile will have the device at some point.
Running Android Lollipop OS, the Coolpad Catalyst (3622A) features a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA touchscreen display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 (MSM8909) processor clocked at 1.1GHz packed along 1GB of RAM, 8GB built-in expandable storage space and a reasonable 2200mAh battery which can last up to 9 hours of talk time.

In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 5MP camera with AutoFocus and LED flash; and a front facing 2MP camera for selfies and video chats. The device supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks and also include the Band 12 LTE support which allows owners access T-Mobile’s Extended Range LTE coverage. other connectivity options are available too.
The Coolpad Catalyst has a simplistic looking design, fits the bill and certainly pushes the similar T-Mobile exclusive Coolpad Rogue down the line.
