T-Mobile announce Alcatel IDOL 4S with Windows 10 Mobile

Alcatel has introduced the Windows 10 Version of the IDOL 4S more than 6 months after the original version with Android OS went official. The Alcatel IDOL 4S with Windows 10 is equipped with Microsoft’s current OS for smartphones (Windows 10 Mobile OS) and will be available for $469.99 in T-Mobile stores starting November 10 in the US.

The Alcatel Idol 4S with Windows 10 comes packaged with virtual reality (VR) goggles – the first Microsoft-powered phone to do this. Depending on the region and availability of compatible accessories, it supports features such as – Windows Hello (Fingerprint), Continnum and Cortana.

The specs differ a bit from the original model, with the processor and RAM/storage upgraded to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and 4GB/64GB from Snapdragon 652 and 3GB/32GB respectively while the screen resolution has dropped to 1080 Full HD from 1440p Quad HD screen resolution.

Changes can also be spotted in the camera segment; the main camera has been bumped from 16MP to a 21MP camera with Sony IMX230 sensor, however, the front 8MP camera with LED flash remains the same. It sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display and depends on a 3000mAh battery.

The rest of the specs include – Fingerprint sensor, Dual 1.2W multi-directional speaker, Hi-Fi audio, 4G LTE and USB Type-C. Those who buy the Alcatel IDOL 4S with Windows 10 will recieve free 45-day trial for Hulu Plus, additional 30-day trial for Groove Music and a free copy of the Windows 10 Mobile game Halo: Spartan Assault.
