The Tag Heuer smartwatch is one of the anticipated wearable for 2015 and while there is no information on most of its specs, the availability and pricing has been revealed. In a strategic partnership with Google and Intel, Tag Heuer announced plans to launch a luxury smartwatch to rival the Apple Watch.
According to Bloomberg, the Tag Heuer smartwatch is expected to be available in the markets around October or November and would come with a $1400 price tag. The smartwatch’s battery is expected to last 40 hours of usage which outshines the Apple Watch’s 18 hours of battery life*.
Speaking ahead of the commission of a Hublot Boutique in Dubai Mall, Jean-Claude Biver, President of the Eatch Division, LMVH said in a statement offering to Apple;
“I hope they sell millions and millions and millions of them. The more they sell the more a few people will want something different and come to TAG Heuer.”
The final name the Tag Heuer smartwatch would bear is unknown but earlier indications points it would run Android Wear OS, possibly be powered by an Intel chipset and with the kind of prestige attached to products from Tag Heuer watches, it would be made from premium material. The swiss company could also still come up with some surprise for the expecting fan base.
