Fresh off collaborating with Blackberry on the DTEK50; Chinese OEM and ODM, TCL (Alcatel) has launched the TCL 562 in India along with a range of TV sets. Priced affordably at Rs. 10,990 (US$ 165); it joins the TCL 560 but skips the Iris scanner in favour of a fingerprint scanner.
Running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, the TCL 562 relies on an octa-core Mediatek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor clocked at 1.8GHz paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage space. It sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS LCD display and is packed in a hairline brushed plastic body.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13MP f/2.0 camera with PDAF & Dual Tone Flash while the front snapper is a 5MP camera with wide angle lens and Flash. The device has Dual SIM slots, a microSD card slot and the Fingerprint sensor is embedded into the oval-shaped home button.
Connectivity options available includes – 4G LTE (Cat.4) with VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2 and Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n. Backed by a non-removable 2960mAh Battery, the TCL 562 is equipped with Hi-Fi sound and arrives exclusively via Amazon starting August 3 in Gold colour option only.
