TCL Mobile communications (or just TCL) has launched a new device in China – the TCL P606L in partnership with China Telecom. The phablet sized device would be available in China and would be available via the aforementioned Carrier.
The TCL P606L sports a 5.5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and a pixel density of 267ppi. It has a metal body build which is achieved using CNC precision machining technology and measures around 7.8mm thin.
Under the hood, it is backed by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. A microSD card is said to be on-board for storage expansion.
On the rear, the primary camera is a Samsung made 13MP camera with CMOS sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 5.0P blue glass ontop. On the front there is a 5MP camera for selfies. Connectivity options includes – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, micro USB, Wi-Fi hotspot and 4G LTE (LTE Cat. 4).
The TCL P606L supports the following networks – FDD-LTE , TD-LTE, W-CDMA, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000 and GSM bands in China. Coming with Dual SIM slots, the phablet supports 4G LTE in both SIM (Dual-Mode LTE), runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a unnamed non-removable battery.
TCL announced the TCL P606L at the Tianyi terminal Trade Fair & Summit Forum happening at the Nanjing International Expo Center in China. The company also showed off the TCL Life+ P618L with 5000mAh battery and a music centric smartphone – the TCL P588L.
Also showed off was the TCL WATCH which would track user’s health, daily activities, receive notifications, monitor heart rate and serve sleep monitoring features. The watch is equipped with pedometer, accelerometer, altimeter, heart rate sensor and other sensors. It is expected to be compatible with Android and iOS; have about 60 hours of battery life.
