After weeks of teasing, Tecno Mobiles has officially announced its new camera-focused Camon series smartphones – the Tecno Camon CX and Tecno Camon CX Air. Both devices sports an all metal body, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in expandable storage space, fingerprint sensor, boot Android 7.0 Nougat OS with HiOS, support 4G LTE networks and backed by a 3200mAh battery.
Tecno Camon CX
Starting off with the highlight, the Tecno Camon CX has a rear and front facing 16MP cameras; the front camera has a Ring Flash while the rear has AutoFocus and Dual Flash. It sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) screen resolution and adds Light Speed Charge (fast charging support).
The rest of the specs include – 1.5GHz octa-core processor, microSD card slot (up to 128GB), and LTE Bands 3 / 7/ 20/ 28A /40.
Tecno Camon CX Air
The Camon CX Air is basically the Camon CX with a bit of a compromise in specs. The display size remain 5.5-inch however the resolution has dropped to (1280 x 720 pixels) HD and the cameras (front and rear) to 13MP, each with Dual Flash. It also packs the same LTE bands and powered by a 1.25GHz quad-core processor.
Pricing and Availability
The Tecno Camon CX will retail for $190 and arrives in Gold, Grey, Purple and Rose Gold (Pink) colours while the Tecno Camon CX Air will retail for $143 and come in Purple colour only.
Both the Camon CX and Camon CX Air will go on sale in Nigeria, UAE, Kenya, Togo, Niger, Ghana, Mali, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Egypt, Cameroon, Guinea, Senegal, D.R Congo, R.Congo, UAE, Chad, Gabon, Cote D’ Ivoire, Benin, Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone.
