Tecno Mobiles is confirmed to launch a new tablet before the end of April or early May. Dubbed the Tecno Droipad 8II, the new slate follows the Droidpad 7C Pro to become the second tablet from the company in 2016. It is expected to be available in Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda.
According to sources, the Tecno Droipad 8II sports a 8-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixels (WXGA) screen resolution and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. It is powered by the Mediatek MT6735M processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space.
Backed by a 5000mAh battery, the tablet should have Dual SIM slots (Standard + Micro) and supports 2G GSM, 3G WCDMA and 4G LTE (FDD B1, B3, B7, B20) networks although we shouldn’t rule out a Wi-Fi only edition entire. Other options for connectivity includes – Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
For photography, there is a combination of 5MP/2MP cameras on the front and rear respectively. Other features touted are Dual Stereo speakers and USB OTG support. Last year, Tecno announced various tablets ranging from the Android-Powered Droipad 8H to the Windows-powered Winpad 10 Hybrid.
