Weeks ago, Tecno Mobiles quietly launched the third member of the L8 Series – the Tecno L8 Lite. The new entrant joins the Tecno L8 (1GB, 5050mAh) and Tecno L8 Plus (2GB RAM, 5050mAh) with a large 4000mAh battery, which should last well over a day of usage.
Pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the Tecno L8 Lite has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS capacitive display, supports only 2G and 3G networks, and relies on a quad-core Mediatek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The RAM and Storage remains the same at 1GB and 16GB built-in storage respectively.
The device has Dual Micro SIM slots and for additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB – 128GB. Photography is handled by a rear facing 8MP AF camera with LED flash and records 1080p @30fps working alongside a front facing 2MP selfie camera with flash.
The Tecno L8 Lite lacks a fingerprint sensor in the home button or the rear, but has connectivity options such as Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Hotspot, GPS and micro USB v2.0. It is also listed to support USB OTG* which means it should be able to charge other mobile devices.
In Nigeria, the L8 Lite is priced with the range of N35,000 – N45,000 while it is sold in Egypt and Kenya for KSh 11,424 and EGP 1,745 respectively.
