After releasing the Tecno Boom J7, Tecno has a new smartphone in the offering. The Tecno Y4 as it is known caters for the entry level market and first time smartphone users who would like get started with the Internet.
Moving to the device details, the Tecno Y4 specs includes a 4-inch (480 X 800 pixels) WVGA IPS Touchscreen display, powered by a Dual-core processor (MediaTek Soc) clocked at 1.0GHz paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB).
On the rear is a 5MP camera with LED flash; the front camera is a 0.3MP (VGA) unit. Connectivity options on the device includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3G, GPS, microUSB 2.0 but no 4G LTE. It has Dual SIM slots with Dual standby, has HotKnot connectivity which performs NFC-like functions and comes pre-loaded with some apps including Palm Chat. Sensor options includes – G-sensor, Light sensor, Proximity sensor.
The Tecno Y4 is backed by a 1800mAh battery and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. The device is reportedly available in Rwanda at the moment. It could potentially see a Nigeria release date soon and the price is expected to range between N12,000 and N14,000 Naira.
EXTRA: Tecno was supposed to release it’s answer to the Infinix Hot Note, Infinix Hot and Innjoo One 3G. So far we haven’t see anything however, it has dished out the Boom J7 which is overpriced and the Y4 which a lot of Android purist would take a pass.
