Tecno dazzled the world with its new foldable smartphone at the long concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona. The Tecno Phantom V Fold follows the Phantom X2 Pro 5G and Phantom X2 5G in the company’s ‘Phantom’ premium sub-brand. It also takes the crown as the first left-right foldable smartphone to be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000+ (4nm) processor.
The Tecno Phantom V Fold has a TCL-made 7.85-inch ultra-flat foldable main screen with 90% screen-to-body ratio which folds into a 6.42-inch curved display with 90.1% screen-to-body ratio and 10Hz – 120Hz refresh rate. The main screen is a flexible AMOLED display with 2K+ resolution while the folded screen is also a flexible AMOLED display, however, the resolution is only 1080p.
Photography is handled by triple rear camera and two cameras at the front. The rear setup has a 50MP (f/1.85) main camera paired with 50MP portrait camera and 13MP (120 FOV) ultra-wide-angle camera. The front setup is a combination of 32MP (external display) and 16MP (internal display) cameras. A 5,000mAh battery with 45W flash charging (from 0 to 40% in 15 minutes) powers the smartphone.
The rest of the specs includes 12GB RAM (LPDDR5X), 256GB/512GB UFS 3.1 storage, Dual stereo speakers, and fingerprint sensor in the home button. The 5G smartphone comes pre-loaded with HIOS Fold (HiOS 13 Fold), which offers features such as parallel windows, split screen, drag and drop and driving mode. It is available in Black (classic leather) and White (silicone leather).

Tecno also showed off the Spark 10 Pro and MegaBook S1 2023 laptop. The Tecno Spark 10 Pro will be the front liner for other camera-centric devices in the Spark 10 series. It will feature a 32MP selfie camera with dual flash, 50MP main camera and draws power from the MediaTek Helio G88 gaming processor. The Tecno MegaBook S1 2023 is powered by the 13th-Gen Intel Core processor.
