AT&T has announced the Trek HD tablet which is its first branded tablet and the first tablet in the company’s portfolio to run Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The AT&T Trek HD is regarded as a step forward for AT&T in terms of developing affordable products with premium features.
The AT&T Trek HD supports 4G LTE connectivity, sports a 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) HD display and weighs 340 grams. It is powered by a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.6GHz and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot onboard for storage expansion.
The main camera is a 5MP AutoFocus snapper and the front camera is a 2MP unit. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Google Now launcher is pre-installed and is backed by a 4060mAh Li-ion battery which is expected to last roughly 8 hours of usage.
The AT&T Trek HD is available online starting May 12 for as low as $49.99 on a 2-yr contract agreement or for $10 monthly on the AT&T Tablet instalment plan; the tablet can also be added to the Mobile Share Value Plan at $10 per month. Those willing to pick it up at a brick and mortar AT&T store can get it starting May 15th nationwide.
