Chinese OEM, Blackview is readying a new rugged phone – the Blackview BV5000; while the specs are not out of the ordinary it would be able to hold it own as it support 4G LTE connectivity and will withstand harsh weather conditions.
The display size of the Blackview BV5000 is not known, however, it has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) with no word on any screen protection but there is a thick rubber around the body which holds the device frame intact to prevent it from falls.
Under the hood it is powered by a quad-core processor (unknown make) with 8GB space of internal storage, a microSD card card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB) but not word on RAM. On the rear, there is a 8MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 2MP camera for selfies.
The Black BV5000 has a massive 4700mAh battery life to compensate for the thickness, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box and supports WorldMode LTE connectivity. Other connectivity options includes – USB OTG, a-GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
There is no word on pricing but the Blackview BV5000 would be priced moderately and would be available in Violet and White colour options.
Update: The Blackview BV5000 also has a built-in security which protects the device against being factory reset whenever it gets stolen.
