The Dell Venue 10 7000 is a business focused Android tablet

Dell has released a follow up to the Venue 8 7000 tablet; a 10-inch business tablet which is powered by the same quad-core Intel SoC as it’s predecessor. The Dell Venue 10 7000 as it is known will cost $499 for the slate alone, and those who want the optional backlit keyboard will have to cough up additional $130, driving the cost up to $629 for both.

The Dell Venue 10 7000 features a 10.5-inch 2560 X 1600 pixels resolution OLED display, powered by the Quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage. The main camera is a 8MP unit with RealSense 3D technology; runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 7000mAh battery which should provide 7 hours of battery life (which is less than the actual 15 hours tipped).

The slate measures 6.2mm in thickness, has a big metal cylindrical shape around its edge which gives it an extra weight at 598 grams (almost twice the venue 8 7000 which weighs 305 grams). This edge houses the battery, some internal components including duo stereo speakers and is where the keyboard attaches (this is where it acquires it’s power from).

Along the other edge of the tablet, this is where the microSD card slot (expandable up to 512GB), micro USB port and headphone jack. The tablet is expected to be available later this month and as expected the US is its first destination.
