The LG G Watch R2 4G smartwatch set for MWC 2015 Debut

Wearable would definitely be one of the most talking points of 2014 tech year and am sure 2015 would move the relatively new market niche forward. According to recent industry sources from Korea, LG is set to showcase a 4G enabled smartwatch at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona.

The event which is scheduled for March 2015 would the data ready smartwatch see its debut. Dubbed the LG G Watch R2 4G, it is expected to be a strong competitor to the already announced Apple Watch and the successor to the LG G Watch R.

The company is expected to retain similar design from the G Watch R to the G Watch R2 4G and would definitely run on Android Wear OS. Battery life would be a major talking point as we know 4G LTE would definitely have a large impact on the length of standby time.

The main reason behind making smartwatch with standalone cellular connectivity is to make it function as a smartphone in itself. Samsung raised the bar with the Gear but it runs on the company’s Tizen OS and only supports 3G connectivity.

With LG able to pull of measurable success and classic design with the G Watch and the G Watch R, we expect the LG G Watch R2 4G to be no different. It wouldn’t take long before more specs details trickle out to the media, we would definitely follow this up till it goes official.
