Toshiba has announced a new tablet for the Indian market, the Toshiba WT-8 as it is known is a Windows 8.1 OS running tablet powered by Intel’s Atom SoC. The tablet is available exclusively from Amazon India for a price tag of Rs 15,490 ( approx $250).
Moving to the specs, the Toshiba WT-8 features a 8-inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels (WXGA) resolution, powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735G processor clocked at 1.33GHz with 1GB of RAM memory, 32GB of internal storage space and a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 5-megapixel camera and a front facing 1.2-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies. Connectivity options on the device includes – Wi-Fi. 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and micro USB 2.0 but no cellular connectivity of any sort.
On the software front, the Toshiba WT-8 runs on Windows 8.1 OS with a year free subscription to the Office 365 and several pre-loaded apps including Skype, Xbox Music & Video and Kindle reader. Even though, the device battery is unspecified, the slate boasts of up to 11 hours of constant usage.
