Japanese company, Yamada Denki has announced a new Windows smartphone – the Yamada Denki Everyphone; it is one of the few devices around to run Windows 10 Mobile OS out-of-the-box. It will retail for JPY 38,900 (excluding tax) which is equivalent to a rather steep price of $324.
The Yamada Denki Everyphone has dethroned the Nokia Lumia 830 (8.5mm thick) as the thinnest Windows smartphone around with a thickness of 6.9mm (full dimensions – 154.8 mm x 78.6 mm x 6.9 mm). The phone weighs lightweight at 138.6 grams and has a Single SIM slot (Micro SIM).
It sports a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and will arrive in White and Black colors. The device is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 2GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage and a microSD card slot with support for up to 64GB cards.
In the camera segment, the Yamada Denki EveryPhone dons a 13MP AutoFocus camera with Dual LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB, GPS/AGPS and 4G LTE.
The device is backed by a 2600mAh which could take up to 5 hours to charge full (no quick charging support) but provides up to 10 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time. For the price, the specs are not really up to par with fellow competitions but in the Japanese market smartphones are usually a bit expensive compared to other markets.
