Samsung announced its first device running the Tizen OS – the Samsung Z1 earlier this year, the device is currently available in select markets. While the device doesn’t come with top notch specs, it is a low-end smartphone with a sub-$100 price tag.
Reports out of Korea suggests Samsung is working on a Tizen OS running smartphone called the Samsung Z LTE. The device has the same bezels and volume buttons as the Samsung Z1 and also, as the name suggests is expected to support LTE networks.
The Samsung Z LTE can be summed up to be the LTE capable variant of the Samsung Z1 but differs from the Samsung Z2 which has supposedly leaked out in countless images in the aspects of proximity, light and gesture sensors (it does not have them).
There is no official word on the availability and pricing details of either the Samsung Z2 and Samsung Z LTE. They could be just speculation for now.
Some days ago, the Samsung Z1 topped the smartphone market in Bangladesh by becoming the number one smartphone model in the country for the first quarter of 2015 (Q1 2015). Joining the likes of India and Bangladesh; the Samsung Z1 is expected to launch in Sri Lanka soon.
