Toshiba has announced two good looking Windows 10 OS based tablets – Toshiba Encore 10 and Toshiba Encore 10K with focus on Business and Education usage. Both tablets will be available in Mid-September from ToshibaDirect.com as well as Corporate Direct, Reseller and DMR Partners.
Both tablets are aggressively priced, the Toshiba Encore 100 starts at $299 with Windows 10 and the Windows 10 Pro starts at $399. The Toshiba Encore 10K with the Keyboard dock and Windows 10 Pro costs $499.
The Toshiba Encore 10 is a standalone tablet while the Toshiba Encore 10K is a hybrid (2-in-1) tablet with a Keyboard dock. Both tablets shares most same specs with a 10.1-inch Full HD display, weighs 598 grams (around 1Kg for the Encore 10K with Keyboard Dock) and runs either Windows 10 OS or Windows 10 Pro OS.
Powered by an Intel Atom X5 Quad-core Cherry Trail Processor clocked up to 1.84GHz, both tablets have either 2GB or 4GB of RAM and 64GB Solid State drive. The camera combination is 8MP/2MP on the front and the rear. Connectivity options includes – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, MicroSD, Micro HDMI and Micro USB.
The Encore 10 has battery life of around 7 hours of battery life and the the Encore 10 has a battery life of around 11 hours thanks to the keyboard dock adding 4 hours to the original 7 hours. Asides added battery life, the Keyboard also adds connectivity options such as RBG Out, HDMI out, 2 x USB 3.0 and Ethernet.
PS: The Toshiba Encore 10 and Encore 10K should not be confused with the Toshiba Encore 2 10 tablet; and both tablets were also initially speculated to be called Toshiba Satellite Click 10.
