Since Xiaomi launched its first Mi MIX smartphone back in 2016, a large number of Chinese devices makers have released phones with the same body design. The Ulefone MIX S is the latest to join the trend with very thin side and top bezels (tri-bezeless), along with a physical home button with the Touch ID (0.1 sec unlock time, 360-degree recognition) embedded.
The Ulefone MIX S sports a metal body frame with curved sides while the back is made of plastic with a glossy finish. It has a 5.5-inch 720p HD display with high contrast ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD).
On the inside, the smartphone boots Android 7.0 Nougat OS and relies on a quad-core Mediatek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. Main photography is handled by dual rear cameras: a primary 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor (f/2.2 lens, dual-tone LED flash) paired alongside a secondary 5MP sensor for Bokeh Mode.
The front camera has a 8MP sensor (interpolated up to 13MP) and a f/2.2 lens. Connectivity and port options include: GPS, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.1, micro USB, 3.5 mm audio jack and USB 2.0, . The Ulefone MIX S measures 143 x 75 x 8.7 mm, weighs 173 grams and depends on a 3,300mAh Li-Polymer battery with 5V/1.5A charger. It is also equipped with the AW8737S Hi-Fi audio chipset.
