UMi Diamond X with MTK6737 SoC and 2GB RAM Costs $79

Chinese device maker, UMi has announced the launch of a new 5-inch smartphone in China – called the UMi Diamond X. The new‎ offering is a variant of the recently launched UMi Diamond and basically has the same design except the difference in processor and lesser RAM space noticeable under the hood.

On the UMi Diamond X, the ‎3GB RAM and octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor which featured on the original Diamond has been swapped out for 2GB RAM and the Mediatek MT6737 octa-core processor. The pricing is also cheaper starting at $79 and internal storage is 16GB (expandable via microSD).

Asides the notable differences mentioned above both devices are inseparable starting from the design. The Diamond X sports a full metal body build with Diamond Electroplating, 5-inch HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass layer on top and ‎NEG Dinorex T2X-1 Glass protection.

The rest of the specs includes – Dual SIM slots, rear facing 8MP Hi843b camera (interpolated up to 13MP), front facing 2MP SP2509 camera (interpolated up to 5MP), 4G LTE (Cat. 4) network support, Music Box speaker, custom made audio chip and Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

The whole shebang is backed by a 2650mAh Sony Li-Polymer 4.35V battery with 10 – 13 days of ‎standby time. The UMi Diamond X will arrive in Black, Gold and White colour options.
