UMI has officially announced the UMI Hammer S, a more or less improved UMI Hammer smartphone with beefier specs. The midrange device costs between $129.99 – $149.99 and is already on pre-order; shipping is slated for September 15.
The UMI Hammer S features a 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD). The processor is a quad-core Mediatek MT6735 SoC. Clocked at 1GHz paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB space of internal storage and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot onboard for expansion up to 32GB or 64GB.
On the back, the midranger has 13MP main camera with LED flash, front camera is a 2MP snapper and just below the main camera lies the fingerprint scanner. The UMI Hammer S supports 4G LTE connectivity, has Dual SIM slots, Type-C USB 3.0 and IR Blaster for cases where the device is to fill in for a remote control.
Overall, the 3D metal body build of the UMI Hammer S makes it look premium and three (Home, Back and Menu) capacitive buttons can be found below the display. The volume rockers and the power/lock button are located on the the right hand side and is backed by a 3200mAh battery.
