Following the launch of the UMi Super, Chinese company, UMi has announced the launch of the UMi London. The entry-level smartphone boasts of being the ‘toughest dual protection phone’ as it features a ‘DG-Twin Shield’ tech which uses Dual Glass and 3M double coated foam tape to protect the device from risks of falling or breaking.
Packed in a body crafted with aluminium alloy metal with easy-grip design, the UMi London sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD SHARP IPS display with 2.5D Arc screen. It measures 114.93 x 71.58 x 8.55 mm in dimensions, weighs 160 grams in size and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 1GB RAM and 8GB built-in storage space. The Dual SIM device costs $69.99, has a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB) and is backed by a 2050mAh battery.
In the camera department, there is a rear facing 8MP camera with Sony IMX149 sensor and a front facing 2MP camera with GC2365 Sensor for selfies and video chats. The UMi London supports only 2G and 3G networks, and misses out on 4G LTE due to the SoC. Other connectivity options available include – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and GPS/A-GPS.
