UMi London is toughest Dual-Glass Protected Smartphone yet

Following the launch of the UMi Super, Chinese company, UMi has announced the launch of the UMi London. The entry-level smartphone boasts of being the ‘toughest dual protection phone’ as it features a ‘DG-Twin Shield’ tech which uses Dual Glass and 3M double coated foam tape to protect the device from risks of falling or breaking.‎

Packed in a body crafted with aluminium alloy metal with easy-grip design, the UMi London sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD SHARP IPS display with 2.5D Arc screen. It measures 114.93 x 71.58 x 8.55 mm in dimensions, weighs 160 grams in size and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 1GB RAM and 8GB built-in storage space. The Dual SIM device costs $69.99, has a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB) and is backed by a 2050mAh battery.

In the camera department, there is a rear facing 8MP camera with Sony IMX149 sensor and a front facing 2MP camera with GC2365 Sensor for selfies and video chats.‎ The UMi London supports only 2G and 3G networks, and misses out on 4G LTE due to the SoC. Other connectivity options available include – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and GPS/A-GPS.‎
