With the IFA 2016 in the concluding stage and a scheduled Apple event billed to happen today; Chinese company, UMi wants to take a bit of shine (or not) by launching the UMi Plus on the same day as the iPhone 7, although both phones are in worlds of their own.
Moving on to the specifications, the UMi Plus has a body made with 6000 series of aerospace-level aluminium metal and is backed by a massive 4000mAh 4.35V battery aided by a USB Type-C port with support for Mediatek’s Pump Express Plus (PE+) fast charging technology.
The smartphone has a SHARP-made 5.5-inch screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) resolution and 2.5D ARC glass. On the inside, it is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor paired with 4GB of RAM made by Samsung and 32GB built-in storage space.
The decision to move the fingerprint sensor which promises a swift 0.1s unlock time, to the front (home button) is another attempt to add to the non-existent iPhone comparisons. In the camera aspect, there is a rear facing 13MP camera with Samsung 3L8 Sensor and a front 5MP Selfie camera.
The RRP of the UMi Plus is US$ 219.99 but will be available for US$ 179.99 during the pre-sale period starting today.
