Chinese company, UMi has announced the launch of a new high-end smartphone – UMi Plus E. It is the extreme version of the UMi Plus and the first from the company to be powered by Mediatek’s Helio P20 MT6757 processor. This SoC includes a 2.3GHz octa-core CPU and a Mali-T880 GPU clocked at 900MHz
Pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the UMi Plus E sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD LTPS SHARP-made display with 2.5D curved glass, 95 % NTSC color gamut and backed by a 4000mAh battery from SONY with Pump Express Plus (PE+) fast charging.
The device packs Dual SIM slots (Hybrid), 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB eMMC 5.1 flash memory (expandable up to 256GB via microSD). The fingerprint sensor is embedded into the home button along with Touch ID technology – 360-degree recognition, 0.1s unlock time and up to 5 fingerprints.
For photography, the main camera is a 13MP Samsung sensor with Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF), 0.1s shutter speed and 5-element lens while the front camera is a 5MP snapper for selfies. Equipped with the USB-Type-C port and Hi-Fi quality audio output, the UMi Plus E supports 4G VoLTE (LTE Cat.6) networks and sports an all-metal body cover in Black colour only.
In terms of pricing, the Plus E by UMi is expected to go on pre-sale for $199 but the final retail price should be around $269.99 which a bit cheaper compared to the OnePlus 3 with similar specs and sells for $399.
