UMI Rome announced with MTK6753 and 3GB of RAM for $89.99

UMI has announced the UMI Rome, a sub-$100 phablet sized smartphone and like the PR release says, it comes with some of the best specifications for a phone within that price range.

Going into details, the UMI Rome sports a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 Pixels (HD) and has decent pricing of $89. Under the hood sits one of Mediatek’s most popular SoC for midrange devices – the octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz.

The device has 3GB of RAM for handling tasks and 16GB space for storage but no mention if it will be expandable. In the camera segment, there is a front facing 2-Megapixels camera with Front Flash and a rear facing 13MP Sony IMX164 sensor with dual LED flash as the main one.

Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the UMI Rome woul have Dual SIM slot, measures about 7.9mm thick and is backed by a 2500mAh battery. UMI remembers to take shots at the Cubot X15 and the Ulefone Paris but forgets to state if the device supports 4G LTE networks. 

The company recently announced the UMI Iron Pro, a Pro version of the UMI Iron which has an eye recognition technology, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, 5.5-inch FHD display, octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor, 3GB of RAM, Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and a 3100mAh battery.
