Chinese company, UMI officially made the UMI Rome phablet available, it is one of the very few sub-$100 budget smartphones around with up to 3GB of RAM which is normally reserved for higher devices.

We have got our hands on a couple of the UMI Rome hands-on photos and a short video. Taking a deep look at the device, the design is obviously inspired by the Samsung Galaxy Note5, even though the company would argue otherwise.

It sports 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass, measures 7.9mm thin, all-metal chassis which has under gone over 100 processes. The device weighs about 177 grams in size which is considered heavy by standard but will be forgiven for its enticing price tag.

It also ditchs the normal micro USB port for USB Type-C port which is faster in charging and can only be found on selected devices which are usually flagships for now. At the rear of the UMI Rome sits a rear facing 13MP Sony IMX179 sensor with Dual LED flash and around on the sides, the power button, volume controls and speakers can be sighted.

The device doesn’t actually wow with its design, but that isn’t an issue since the selling point is in the specs and pricing department. Checkout the UMI Rome Hands-on photos and short video below;
