UMi has recently released the UMi Touch smartphone, the phablet device is a project the company embarked on to meet most of the needs of the end user at a competitive price. Pre-sale for the device starts on February 18th and users have the opportunity win a $70 discount coupon to be able to buy the device for $109.99 (i.e real price – $179.99).
The UMi Touch is housed in a full metal body, weighs 190 grams, measures 8.5mm thick and is also said to be resistant to shock and fall. It sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass ontop and the fingerprint sensor is embedded into the center home button on the front.
The user defined smartphone relies on an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 64-bit processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 3GB RAM. In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13-megapixel camera with SONY IMX328 Sensor and Dual LED flash, and a front facing 5-megapixel camera with Hynix HI553 Sensor with Front LED flashlight for selfies.
The UMi Touch has Dual SIM slots and the company says it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the box, not the usual upgrade coming after the device is available. It is backed by a 4000mAh battery and there is a large speaker on the back for a good listening experience.
