An unidentified Xiaomi device has popped up on TENAA which is the Chinese equivalent of the FCC with easy semblance with the Xiaomi Redmi 1S meaning it has every possibility to be the Xiaomi Redmi 2.
The rumoured device is said to pack a 4.7-inch 1280 X 720 pixels display, powered by a 64-Bit qualcomm snapdragon 410 with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion purpose. Other features of the supposed upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 2 includes – a 2MP front camera, a 8MP rear camera, WCDMA, 4G LTE (TD LTE & LTE FDD), Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS and a 2200mAh battery.
The device weighs around 134 grams and would be available in different colour options – Black, Red, Yellow, White, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple. The Xiaomi Redmi 2 is expected to be available around RMB 599 – RMB 699 (around $97 or $113) price tag.
Xiaomi as we all know is a very busy and innovative company looking to establish it own name in the folklore of time. The company is know for employing aggressive marketing and that has paid off as the company has moved up to the spot of 3rd or 4th largest smartphone manufacturer in the world.
We would expect the device to go official in coming days, even though the specs points towards the Redmi 2, it could actually end up to be the Xiaomi Redmi 1S 4G.
