Reliance Jio (or just Jio) has a host of upcoming 4G-enabled smartphones as well as some tablets which will go official under the company’s LYF brand in India soon. These devices will all have Dual SIM slots, voice over Wi-Fi, voice over LTE, HD Voice and video calling features.
One of the expected devices from the company – the LYF FXFL 7008 tablet has surfaced in a leak which includes its specs and picture. It sports a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.1GHz with Adreno 304 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
The slate runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS & 4G LTE options. Internal storage space is 16GB, this is expandable via microSD card slot. For photography, there is a rear camera with LED flash and a front camera for video calls but the exact number of megapixels is missing.
The LYF FXFL 7008 tablet has a metallic frame and a metal back cover with brushed aluminium texture which shows the speaker grills. It is expected to be priced affordable and should be sold online by platforms such as Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal; and Reliance Retail and other multi-brand stores.
Reliance Jio has already inked a deal with Intex to manufacture their upcoming mobile devices. Talks are also ongoing with other manufacturers in the country such as Micromax, Lava and Karbonn. The company will commence 4G services for its employees tomorrow (December 27th), however, commercial rollout will begin around March – April 2016.
