ASUS is expected to announce a new budget friendly (entry-level) smartphone in the Zenfone series – the Asus Zenfone Go. The information is coming out of Taiwan which is the company’s home country and also the same source which correctly predicted the release of the Asus Zenfone Selfie before it launched at the Computex 2015.
The Asus Zenfone Go ZC500TG (Asus ZC500TG) marks the first time Asus would use the MediaTek processor in its Zenfone Series and would be an inexpensive device. It would be powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6582 processor with Mali-400 MP2 GPU. Handling tasks would be 2GB of RAM, there is 8GB space of internal storage onboard which should be expandable.
On the rear, there would be a 8MP camera, on the front is a 2MP camera for selfies and a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD). The Asus Zenfone Go would be stuck at 3G connectivity with the source specifically mentioning it would not have 4G LTE support. There is no word on the battery capacity and the Android OS version it would run.
Asus is expected to announce the Zenfone Go before the end of the month but at the moment there is no official word on the existence of the device not to talk of the pricing and availability. However, there would be several colour options to choose from when it launches.
