Samsung is working on the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S series of tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 as it is known has been a subject of the rumour mill and we have managed to get more information about the upcoming device.
The subject of this new report is the measurement of the tablet; the tablets are expected to be extremely thin and even thinner than the Apple iPad Air and the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet. The 9.7-inch version of the Galaxy Tab S2 is said to measure around 5.5mm thin (full dimension – 237.17 x 169.58 X 5.5mm) which doesn’t stray from the 5.4mm we have heard before and would make it the thinnest Samsung tablet yet. The 8.0-inch version however might be a little thicker due to space constraint. The current generation of Galaxy Tab S tablets measure 6.6mm in thickness.
(Update) #Samsung's 9.7" Galaxy Tab S2 = Galaxy S6 inspired design ≃ 237.17×169.58×5.5mm

Samsung is doing away with the 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch display size; instead it would go for 9.7-inch and 8.0-inch like it did with the Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablets. However each display size would have 2048 X 1536 pixels resolution, 4:3 aspect ratio and makes use of Super AMOLED panels.
Asides the display, both the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 would both be powered by a 64-bit Exynos 7 chispet which has a Big.LITTLE CPU configuration (4 Cortex A57 and 4 Cortex A53) clocked at 1.9GHz with Mali-T760 MP6 GPU. It would run Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, 3GB of RAM and 7MP.
It is said to take its inspiration from the Samsung Galaxy S6, we’ll just have to see how the battery life would be because that would sell all the above features above.
