VAIO makes Comeback with the Vaio Pro and Vaio Fit Laptop in Tokyo

Most people will remember Sony-Vaio brand some few years ago, but Sony had to sell its struggling PC division to private investment firman Japan Investment Partners. Sony sold Vaio, its PC division to focus more on its smartphones and tablets. The VAIO laptops would be available in SONY’s online storefront in Japan and don’t expect to see them launched outside Japan.

In an official announcement, VAIO Corporation has been officially founded, it wouldn’t have more than 240 employees and would be a smaller affair compared to when it was under Sony. Under this new company, it is unlikely Vaio will be taking its operations outside Japan.

Both Laptops, the VAIO Pro and VAIO Fit are similar to the old Sony VAIO laptops.

The VAIO Fit 15E features a 15-Inch Full HD/ HD display, powered by Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processor options, Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, 500GB HDD. While the VAIO Pro would be available in two screen sizes 11-Inch or 13-Inch full HD/HD display, powered by Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 Haswell processors, Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 and 128GB – 256GB of SSDs.

Now that the VAIO brand is reformed, it may take time know the kind of impact VAIO corporation would make in the market without Sony.
