Verizon Wireless has announced the successor to the Optimus Zone 2 – the LG Optimus Zone 3. The entry-level smartphone with quad-core SoC and 4.5-inch display is available for US$ 69.99 and can be bought with carrier’s prepaid service plan.
Big Red offers three prepaid plans for $30 (with Wi-Fi only for Data), $45 (with 1GB of Data) and $60 (3GB of Data) – all three offer unlimited talk and text.
Moving to the specs, the LG Optimus Zone 3 sports a 4.5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA), measures 131.8 x 66.5 x 8.9mm and weight 113 grams in size. It is backed by a removable 1940mAh Li-ion battery which can provide up to roughly 10 days of standby time and 11 hours of usage time.
Under the hood, it relies on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 processor clocked at 1.1GHz with Adreno 304 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB built-in storage space and runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB.
In the camera segment, there is a front facing 2-megapixels camera for selfies and a rear facing 5-megapixels camera with LED flash; there is Gesture shot and Selfie Flash. Connectivity options on the LG Optimus Zone 3 includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, CDMA and LTE.
