Vivo has announced its new all-screen concept flagship – the Vivo APEX 2019. It arrives with a curved glass design and the physical volume, home and volume buttons has been replaced with pressure-sensitive ones and both the 3.5mm audio jack and USB port are missing.
The Vivo APEX 2019 is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 mobile platform and supports 5G connectivity via eSIM. The chipset is paired with a liquid cooling heat pipe, up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB built-in storage space.
All internals components are effectively positioned and packed using the 3D duplex stacking design and MoB packaging technology. The smartphone features 12MP + 13MP dual rear camera setup and Vivo’s in-house sound solution that uses the phone’s screen as speakers.
The Vivo APEX 2019 has a 6.39-inch AMOLED display and Vivo’s new in-screen fingerprint recognition technology which allows the user unlock the device from anywhere on the screen. It also supports double finger entry from any point on the screen.
The APEX 2019 is expected to debut as a NEX smartphone sometime this year. Whenever it does, it will arrive in three colour choices: Black, Silver and White.
