Vivo’s IQOO sub-brand has unveiled its new iQOO 5 smartphone series – the original iQOO 5 and its Pro model – the iQOO 5 Pro. Both models are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile platform for 5G connectivity and offer up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM as well as up to 256GB UFS 3.1 built-in storage space., which is non-expandable.
The iQOO 5 has a 6.56-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 2.5D curved screen, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, 19.8:9 aspect ratio, SGS Eye Care display certification and HawkEye Display Enhancement 2.0. There is also an under-display fingerprint sensor and the front 16MP (f/2.45) selfie camera in the punch hole. The pro model has the same setup; however, it has a 3D Curved display.
Photography on the original model is handled by a primary 50MP (f/1.85, EIS) camera with Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor paired – same as the Vivo X50 Pro+ – paired with 13MP (f/2.2, 120o FOV) ultra-wide camera and 13MP (f/2.46) depth sensor. The Pro variant has the same setup plus OIS; however, the depth sensor has been replaced with an 8MP (f/3.4, 5x optical zoom, 60x digital zoom) periscope lens.
The iQOO 5 is backed by a 4,500mAh battery with 55W FlashCharge fast charging while the iQOO 5 Pro is backed by a 4,000mAh (2x 2,000mAh batteries) with 120W FlashCharge fast charging. Both models can shoot videos in 8K and supports Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, and USB Type-C port. They come pre-loaded with iQOO UI 1.5 (based on Android 10 OS) as well as software features such as 4D Game Shock, Game Box and Game Space
