Vivo India has announced the a new smartphone in the Y series model, called the Vivo Y21L. The entry-level device is the follow up to the Vivo Y21 launched earlier this year and joins up with other Voice over LTE (VoLTE) enabled devices in the local Indian market. It is priced at Rs. 7490 (US$ 112).
Backed by a 2000mAh battery and running Vivo’s FunTouch OS 2.5 (based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS); the Vivo Y21L sports a 4.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 854 x 400 pixels (FWVGA) screen resolution, measures 130.7 x 66.4 x 9.2 mm in dimensions and weighs in at 145 grams.
On the inside, the device relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It packs Dual SIM slots (with Dual Standby), 16GB built-in internal storage space and a microSD card for storage expansion up to 128GB.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 5MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 2MP camera for selfies and video chats. The Vivo Y21L supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks whilst also offering VoLTE (HD Voice), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Hotspot and USB OTG. It also supports Voice Capture, Smart Click, Palm Capture and Smart Wake.
