Vivo India has taken the wraps off a new ‘Y Series’ mid-range device called the Vivo Y55L, in the home country. It will be available starting October 15th for a price tag starting at Rs. 11,980 (US$ 180) in Gold and Space Grey colours.
Running Funtouch OS 2.6 (based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS), the Vivo Y55L rocks a 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with 2.5D curved-edge glass, measures 147.9 x 72.9 x 7.5 mm in dimensions and weigh in at 142 grams. It is backed by a 2650mAh battery and comes with a special eye protection feature which reduces effect of blue light strain on the eyes.
On the inside, it relies on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (MSM8937) 64-bit processor clocked at 1.4GHz with Adreno 505 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space. For additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot which allows up to 128GB more.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 8MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash. The front camera is a 5MP snapper for selfies and video chats. The Vivo Y55L packs Dual SIM (micro + nano) slots, 4G VoLTE and a split screen view feature for multi-tasking.
