Vivo Y55s with SD425 SoC, 3GB RAM, Funtouch OS 3.0 Debuts

Following the Malaysia launch of the Vivo Y53, which will also head to India soon, Vivo Mobiles, has launched the Vivo Y55s in India. The new ‘Y Series’ device boots Funtouch OS 3.0 (based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS) and backed by a 2730mAh battery.

The Vivo Y55s is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired with Adreno 308 GPU, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB built-in storag. It has Dual SIM slots, 5.2-inch 720p HD IPS display with 2.5D curved-edge glass and microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB.

The display has a special ‘Eye Protection’ mode that ensures moderacy in screen brightness to reduce the amount of blue light entering the eyes; this is known to cause eye strain. In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash alongside a front facing 5MP selfie camera.

Connectivity options onboard includes – 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. By virtue of the re-loaded Funtouch OS, the Vivo Y55s also comes with a split-screen feature for multitasking. It is expected to go on sale tomorrow (February 26th) across India for Rs. 12,490. Crown Gold and Space Grey are the available colour options.
