VIVO has announced a new Z series smartphone – the Vivo Z3 in China. It has a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED 19.5:9 display with waterdrop notch and 90% screen-to-body ratio, 3.5mm audio jack, IR face unlock, fingerprint sensor and a 3,315mAh battery with 9V/2A (18W) fast charging.
On the inside, the Vivo Z3 is powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 or Snapdragon 710 octa-core 10nm processor paired with 4GB of RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB of RAM with either 64GB or 128GB storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 256GB).
Photography is handled by a 12MP (f/2.0) + 2MP dual rear cameras with AI features and a 12MP (f/2.0) selfie camera in the front notch with Dual-Pixel sensor and AI Beautify feature. It comes pre-loaded with Funtouch OS 4.5 based on Android 8.1 Oreo OS and Jovi AI; and also supports USB OTG, Bluetooth 5 LE and Dual 4G VoLTE.
The Vivo Z3 will arrive in Aurora Blue, Midnight Black and Pink colours and will go on sale in China from November 1. Pricing starts at CNY 1,598 (US$ 231) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and Snapdragon 670 SoC model; CNY 1,898 (US$ 289) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage and Snapdragon 710 SoC model; and the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and Snapdragon 710 SoC model for CNY 2,298 (US$ 332).
Last week, Vivo released the Vivo Z3i with the Mediatek Helio P60 (MT6771) octa-core processor under the hood. It has a similar 6.3-inch FHD+ 19.5:9 display as the Vivo Z3, 16MP + 2MP dual rear cameras, 24MP selfie camera and a 3,315mAh battery with 9V/2A (18W) fast charging.
