Chinese OEM, VKWorld has announced the VKWorld VK560 which the company is touting as the cheapest smartphone with a 5.5-inch display which would also use the MediaTek MT6735 processor. It costs $122.99.
The VKworld VK560 features a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 560 x 940 pixels (qHD) resulting in pixel density of 200ppi. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6735 processor with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage.
There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB. Connectivity options on the device includes – 4G LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, USB OTG and FM Radio. It supports Dual SIM functionality, measures 154.8 x 76.9 x 8.5mm in dimensions and weighs around 150 grams.
The camera combination available on the device is a 13MP/5MP rear and front facing cameras. The VKWorld VK560 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 2850mAh battery which is expected to provide up to 180 hours of standby time and talk time of around 3 hours which is rather small.
The VKworld VK560 doesn’t impress much in terms of specs with most of it screaming 2013 and early 2014; the pricing could however draw people to it. It would be available in two colour combinations and options – White/Silver and Black/Grey.
