UK based Vodafone has announced a new smart ultra series device – the Vodafone Smart Ultra 7. The phablet sized device – successor to the Smart Ultra 6, follows the launch of the Smart Platinum 7 and slots into the mid-range segment with decent specs. The device is available on pay as you go for a price tag of £135 and on monthly contracts for £19 per month.
The Vodafone Smart Ultra 7 sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD IPS display, runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS and is backed by a 2960mAh battery. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Mediatek Helio P10 (MT6755M) processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage expandable space.
In the camera department, there is a front facing 5MP camera for video chats and selfies; and a rear facing 13MP camera with LED flash. Both cameras have LED flash. It supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks as well as Bluetooth 4.1, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS and micro USB v2.0.
The Vodafone Smart Ultra 7 has a body build made from both metal and glass; it measures 152 x 78 x 9 mm in dimensions and weighs 150 grams but there is no fingerprint scanner on board. The device is expected to rival the Motorola Moto G4 which costs about £35 more in the UK.
