Some days after the Kyocera Brigadier with sapphire shield display and Military Standard 810G certified, the company has made the Kyocera Hydro Life with Waterproof, Shock proof, Dust proof and Drop proof Android smartphone.
The Kyocera Hydro Life is IP57 certified which means the device is dust protected and can survive immersion in water up to a meter (3.28 feet) deep for 30 minutes. The device is also Military Standard 810G certified hence its very rugged nature. According to Kyocera “fragiphoniphobia” – a fear of fragile phones is a syndrome common to most people and the 4G enabled Hydro Life is here to correct these fears.
Moving on to other specs and features, the Kyocera Hydro Life sports a 4.5-inch (540 x 960 pixels) impact-resisant IPS qHD touchscreen with reinforced housing and non-slip finish. There is a reasonable 8GB of internal storage with no word on expandability, 1.5GB of RAM, a 2MP front camera for selfies, a 5MP rear camera.
A 1.2GHz Quad-core processor (unspecified chipset) powers the device, a 2000mAh battery also present to keep the device running. Kyocera’s EcoMode and MaxiMZR tools are present to conserve and manage the battery. It also supports Wi-Fi calling functionality, supports T-Mobile HSPA+ service, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 and runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.
For those interesed in picking the Kyocera Hydro Life, it would be available for T-Mobile customers for $124.99 at Walmart on August 8 and MetroPCS will begin selling on August 29.
