First of all, it looks like the good ol folks at the Android apps developer team at Whatsapp comes up with so many things to make the messaging more appealing to the droid fanboys. We have seen the Whatsapp Web Client, the new voice calling feature and now there is an option to backup or restore chats from Google Drive.
Some weeks ago, reports surfaced online that Whatsapp has been working a backup and restore options which would make users restore their old conversations and media files to Google Drive. This update has arrived in forms of a new version of the app which is version 2.12.45; to enable this option user has to connect Google Drive (Google Account) and Whatsapp.
Once the account is connected, under the App Setting/Chat setting user can locate Chat Backup; on here you can choose whether you want the app to backup over Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi and Cellular networks; the frequency of the backup can also be changed from/to Daily, Weekly and Monthly.
